Genevieve W. Sandhop

Genevieve Westfall Sandhop passed away in Huntsville, Texas on Thursday, June 29, 2017, at the age of 94. She was born in Mount Enterprise, Texas on December 16, 1922 to William J. and Ethel Mae Westfall.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin G. Sandhop, Jr. and her father and mother.
Genevieve married Edwin G. Sandhop, Jr. on November 11, 1942. They were blessed with 67 years of marriage.
Genevieve received a Bachelor of Arts and Masters degree from Sam Houston State University and did post graduate work in her chosen field of English at Texas A & M University. She taught in the English Department at Sam Houston State University for thirty-six years.
She was an active member of the Outlook Club and Newcomers Club of Huntsville.
There will be a private interment on Monday, July 3, 2017 with Chaplain Richard Castillo of Alamo Hospice officiating. Services are under the direction of Sam Houston Memorial Funeral Home, Huntsville, Texas.
