Alan Don Perkins
1959-2017
Alan Don Perkins, 57, of Golden, Colorado, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 7, 2017. He was born in the Netherlands to L. Don and Virginia Perkins, residents of Houston for 64 years and now of Cedar Park, TX. Alan grew up in Houston, graduating from Robert E. Lee high school in 1978 and Texas A&M University in 1982. His career adventures took him around the world where he cultivated deep and rich friendships. Alan enjoyed sharing his love of sports and the outdoors with friends and family, especially skiing with his daughters. When Alan accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior, his life took on a new trajectory. He pursued his faith in Jesus Christ with the "all in" zeal he was known for, boldly sharing his faith with others until his last breath. Throughout his battle with cancer, his reply to inquires of how he was doing was always, "Every day is a blessing."
Alan is survived by his parents Don and Virginia Perkins, his wife, Kathleen Burke Perkins, his daughters Chanin Virginia Perkins, Sydney Philomena Perkins, and Florence Isabelle Hughes, his sister Donna Perkins Moorman and husband Jim, sister Cynthia Perkins Long and husband Donn, and an amazing group of friends he considered family.
On Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., a Celebration of Life with reception immediately following will be held at Red Rocks Church – Lakewood Campus, 5810 W Alameda Ave., Lakewood, Colorado 80226.
