Glen Lewis Anderson
(June 13, 1932 - December 17, 2008)

ANDERSON Glen Lewis Anderson (Andy), 76, passed away Wednesday December 17, 2008 at St. Joseph Dubuis Hospital in Houston. Andy was born June 13, 1932 to John Lewis and Mary Lucille Anderson in Cleveland, Ohio. After joining the United States Airforce in 1949 Glen would meet his lifelong companion and wife Josephine. Andy and Josephine Eleanor Norman June 13, 1953 at the St. peters Church, in Wimblington, England. During his 20 years with the U.S. Airforce, Andy and Josephine would share a life long journey of travel through out the United States and abroad. Some of the places they lived while raising their four children were; Ohio, England, Alabama, New Mexico, Illinois, and Texas. Glen (Andy) Anderson’s love for learning never relinquished. He graduated in 1948 from West Tech High School in Cleveland, Ohio. On August 13, 2971 he received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Abilene Christian College and on August 17, 1973 he received his Masters Degree in Industrial Education at Texas A & M, Bryan, TX. Glen continued to pursue his Doctrines Degree at Texas A & M, completing all course hours needed, however, due to medical conditions he was unable to complete his final dissertation. Andy was a jet engine mechanic in the Air Force and was later assigned to the Air Force Field Training Detachment as an instructor where he developed a love for teaching that inspired him to go to college and become a teacher in his civilian life. Mr. Anderson retired as a Senior Master Sergeant from the Air Force after 20 years of service to his country. However, during his civilian life, his career became Education. He taught at Texas A & M, La Porte Junior High School, and Alvin High School. Andy Loved listening to classical music, his photography, woodwork, and planning family get-togethers. Of course he continued his love for Aircraft. His grandchildren and great grandchildren first memories of the Granddad, I’m sure will be of “Charlie”, and imaginary spider he kept in his pocket. Andy is survived by his wife Josephine Anderson of La Porte, Children Kay Palozotto of La Porte, John Anderson and wife Leslie of La Porte, Victoria Summers and husband Scott of Houston, David Anderson of La Porte, grandchildren Cathy Robinson, Daniel Anderson, Michael Anderson, Nicholas Grantom, Elizabeth Grantom, great grandchildren Christopher Robinson, Jeffrey Anderson, Michaela Anderson, and siblings John Anderson (Jake) and wife Elaine, Dorothy Fittro, Virginia Marsh and husband Richard, all of Cleveland, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Eugene Anderson, Richard Anderson, Gary Anderson, and sister Carol Martin all of Cleveland, Ohio, also grandparents Peter Anderson, Katherine Bruck, Ralph Winder, Anna Duff. Visitation will be held Friday December 19, 2008 at 6-9 PM at Paul U. Lee La Porte Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Saturday December 20 at 10 AM at the funeral home with interment following at La Porte Cemetery. In lieu of usual remembrances donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
