Robert Morris Jr FORT WORTH -- Robert Benson Morris Jr. passed away Sunday, August 6, 2017.. SERVICE: 2 p.m. Friday, August 11th at Arborlawn United Methodist Church, 5001 Brairhaven Rd., Fort Worth, 76109 with Reverend, Chris Mesa and Verne Fuqua officiating. Visitation following the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Permanent fund at Arborlawn Foundation or charity of choice. Bob was born in San Antonio, Texas on June 24, 1931. He grew up in San Antonio attending Texas A&M University before transferring and graduating from St. Mary's University with a BA degree in marketing. Upon graduation he received his commission into the US Army, taking he and his wife, Joan Holcomb Morris to Germany. While in Germany they were blessed with their first child, Michael Kent Morris. Upon returning to the states he was employed with Texas Electric Service Company holding various positions in sales, promotion and marketing. During this time their family grew with the birth of Margaret Katherine Morris. Bob was then transferred to Texas Utilities in Dallas serving as a system conservation and load management group member. After retiring from Texas Utlities he worked an additional six years as a senior consultant with an energy planning group in Austin. Bob was very active in community affairs, serving as State Director in the Fort Worth Jaycees, working with Boy Scouts, and serving on the Board of Tarrant County Red Cross. He actively served as a charter member of Edge Park and Arborlawn United Methodist Churches holding various positions of leadership. Bob's greatest accomplishment was being the husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather to his wonderful family who he loved dearly. Bob was a true friend to all who knew him. SURVIVORS: Wife of 66 years, Joan Holcomb Morris; son and wife, Michael and Debbie Morris of Williamsburg, Va.; deceased daughter, Kathy Morris Revenew and husband, Chuck Revenew of Gilbert, Ariz.; grandchildren, Ryan Cherryhomes of Walnut Creek, Calif., Kate Hatfield and husband, Nathan of Farmington, N.M., Reagan Morris of Waterford, Va., Kelly Cox and husband Matt of Fort Worth, and Tedi Revenew of Gilbert, Ariz.; great-grandchildren, Jane and Henry Hatfield of Farmington, N.M.; sister-in-law, Julie Jones and husband, Stinson and family.
