William Hamilton "Bill" Wade
April 9, 1923 ~ August 3, 2017 (age 94)

William Hamilton “Bill” Wade, age 94 of Liberty, passed away in Baytown, TX on August 3, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Bill was born April 9, 1923 in Fernwood, Mississippi son of the late Wilson Wade and Julia Rasmussen Wade. He graduated from San Saba High School and then attended Texas A&M for one semester before being drafted and entered the US Army in 1943 where he served in World War II as a paratrooper. Bill was wounded two times by enemy fire and received the WWII Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign medal with two bronze stars and the Purple Heart Medal. Bill met his wife, Betty Wade at the Partlow House at a party and married June 21, 1947 and was married for almost forty-nine years before her passing in 1996. They opened the Liberty Hardware Store in 1951 and was in business for twenty-five years. Bill was then a certified mechanic for Minter Buick. He was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Liberty where he sang in the choir. He will be missed by all.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his wife; Betty Wade, sister; Julia Ann Harris and brother; Jack Wade. He leaves behind to cherish his memory, daughters; Amy Jeannette Squyres and husband James of Liberty, Ann Tubb and husband John of Houston, granddaughter; Amanda Rytych and husband James of Jacksonville, NC, brother; Charles Wade of Austin, great-grandchildren; William Tyler Rytych and Karlee Louanne Rytych, niece; Katie Garrison of Boerne, TX and sister-in-law; Kate Dimmittt of Temple, TX.
