March 7, 1933 - July 19, 2017

Charles Dwight Williams was born March 7, 1933, outside of Philadelphia, Mississippi. His early life was filled with gunny sacks, brogans, and a bounty of brothers and sisters. Early in life, he gained the nickname, "Bud." Over time, different stories were told as to how he acquired the nickname, but they all involved a donkey, they all were humorous, and they all reflected well upon him. We all should be so lucky to be remembered with variations of such good memories.
He did not stay merely, "Bud." He moved to College Station, attended Texas Agriculture and Mechanical College, and finished with a degree in general business and petroleum engineering. He went on to be instrumental in opening oil and gas production in the Gulf of Mexico, the Southwestern United States, and the North Sea. He also got pulled to Argentina, Abu Dhabi, Siberia, and Yemen.
His family was a begatting family. He was the son of Amzie Jackson and Nannie May. His brothers and sisters were Katherine, Cooper, Y, Jonne, Mary Jane, Peggy, and Gloria. Of those he is survived by Mary Jane, Peggy, and Gloria.
Maybe his biggest accomplishment, though, was the love he shared with his wife Sue, his son Andrew, his son Wes, and his son Jack. And maybe also, the love for and joy he derived from his grandchildren, Isah, Elaine, Helen, and Amzie.
In addition to the love Sue and Bud received from and shared with their family, they have drawn great strength from their friends and from their church family at the Church of the Servant. For many years, they worked with Hannah's Promise, Church of the Servant's ministry for families with children with special needs. In honor of the joy Bud and Sue received from the children, Bud's family asks that memorials be contributed to Hannah's Promise.
