Daniel McLean Jones FORT WORTH--Daniel McLean Jones, 86, passed away Wednesday, July 19, 2017. MEMORIAL SERVICE: 2 p.m. Sunday, July 30, at South Hills Christian Church, 3200 Bilglade Road, Fort Worth, Texas. Family Burial: Saturday, July 22. MEMORIALS: Michael J Fox Foundation for Parkinson Research; Habitat for Humanity; WestAid Food Bank; South Hills Christian Church; or charity of choice. Dan was born March 20, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas, to Cecil and Pride Jones. He graduated high school in San Anontio and received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas A&M, and went to SMU, receiving a Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering. He served two years in the Armed Services, with an Honorable Discharge in 1961. He moved to Fort Worth and worked at General Dynamics/ Lockheed Martin, retiring in 1993. He was an electrical engineer, working on the F-111 and F-16 programs. He was a very active in his church, South Hills Christian, and in community service. He was " Mr. Fix-It" at the church for many years. He also served as a deacon and elder. He worked for several years with Habitat for Humanity, and volunteered for seven years at WestAid Food Bank, a distribution site of Tarrant Area Food Bank. In 1980 he met and married Margaret Campbell Hurst, to whom he was devoted. He was a wonderful husband, G'pa and friend. SURVIVORS: Wife, Margaret; children, Sheryl Stowe and Jan Hurst; former daughter-in-law, Patricia Quiroz; grandchildren, Sean Jones, Elizabeth Wilson and husband, Joe, Jennifer Chesnut and husband, Wyatt, Christopher Campbell, Michael Quiroz and Connor Quiroz; and a son and daughter from a previous marriage.
