Bonnet, Taylor “Tate”

April 12, 1993 - July 3, 2017

Taylor "Tate" Bonnet, of Aurora, Colorado, passed away on July 3, 2017. A memorial service honoring Taylor was held on July 9, 2017 in College Station, TX.

Taylor was born April 12, 1993, in Brenham, Texas, to Kenneth and Patsy Bonnet. She was baptized on November 3, 2002, at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Bryan, Texas, by Father Nick Dyke. She graduated from A&M Consolidated in May, 2011, and later attended Texas A&M University, the University of Denver, and the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Growing up, Taylor enjoyed many summers at Camp Allen and various basketball camps. She loved being around her friends, especially all of her cousins. There were countless hours spent at the grandparents' houses, watching movies, playing cards, and simply enjoying each other's company.

Tate was one of the most caring, understanding, and at times, stubborn people we ever had the pleasure of knowing. He was so easy to befriend and was so willing to be a shoulder on which to cry or a friend to listen. Tate was a bright and beautiful soul who cared deeply for all of his friends and family.

Tate's love in life was sports, being with his friends, and being outdoors. He leaves behind so many friends, especially his second family - those from Texas who were dear to him and his coworkers at Illegal Pete's restaurant. Tate has now joined his fiancée Leigh, the love of his life, who passed away a few years ago. We know that they are both now truly happy together. Their ashes will be scattered together in Boulder, Colorado.

Taylor "Tate" was preceded in death by grandparents, Gus Roehling, Jr. of Burton, TX and Fred Bonnet of Fredericksburg, TX, and a cousin, Jonathan Rowan of Medina, TX.

Taylor "Tate" is survived by his parents, Kenneth and Patsy Bonnet, of Fredericksburg, TX; sister, Amy Bonnet, of College Station, TX; grandparents, Shirlene Bonnet, of Fredericksburg, TX, Edna Roehling, of Burton, TX; aunts and uncles, Dennis and Beverly Roehling, Gary and Toni Roehling, Joanne and Don Hensel, Thomas and Carol Roehling, Jesse Roehling, Nancy and Allen Heinrich, Julie and Ernie Oberrender, Regina and Randal Beauchamp, Mark and Diane Bonnet, and Layne and Karon Bonnet. He is also survived by many cousins and his two cuddle buddies, Doom and MJ.

Please consider donations to the Gender Identity Center of Colorado or the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline in his memory.
