Mr. Carl Samuel Royer, 65, of Chapel Hill, died on Saturday, July 8, 2017.

Mr. Royer was born in Norfolk, Virginia. Carl earned his Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from the University of Florida, received a Masters in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M, and a Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from N.C. State University. He retired from Elster as a Senior Electrical Engineer. He was preceded in death by his father Daniel King Royer.

He is survived by his son, Daniel Royer and daughter, Diana Royer both of Chapel Hill; his mother, Naomi Anderson Royer of St Augustine, Fla.; two brothers, Patrick Royer of Knoxville, Tenn., David Royer of Atlanta, Ga and one sister, Nana Royer of St Augustine, Fla.; and his former wife, Joan Kistler Royer of Chapel Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 2 p.m. at Hudson Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Wake Memorial Park followed by a Reception.

The family will receive friends on Saturday from 1 to 2 p.m., before the service at Hudson Funeral Home. Flowers are acceptable. Online condolences can be made at www.hudsonfuneralhome.com
