Mr. Mike Bowers
December 9, 1941 - July 1, 2017
Graveside funeral services for Mr. Mike Bowers, 75, of Nacogdoches will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 6, 2017 at the Antioch Cemetery with Rev. Rodger Cole officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday prior to the graveside service at Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mr. Bowers died July 1, 2017 in Nacogdoches, Texas.
Mr. Michael Gene “Mike” Bowers was born December 9, 1941 in Carthage, Texas to the marriage of Earl and Nina Wooley Bowers. He graduated Robert E. Lee High School in Baytown, Texas in 1960 and would serve in the U. S. Navy from 1961-1962. Mike would marry the love of his life Judy Lochridge in 1963. He was a graduate of Texas A&M University in 1968. Mike was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. He is preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Bowers is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy Bowers, children, Michele Hatton and husband James, Jennifer Moser and husband Roger, Jr., and Scott Bowers and wife Adriana, mother, Nina Bowers, sisters, Earlene Jacks and husband Dickie and Joy Simms and husband Terry, grandchildren, Ben Augustine, Landry Bowers, Cooper Bowers and Zoey Bowers, numerous nieces, nephews and a host of neighbors and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Ben Augustine, Terry Simms, James Hatton, Roger Moser, Jr., Charlie Clements, Dickie Jacks and honorary pallbearer, Cooper Bowers. The family requests donations to the Hospice of East Texas. An online guestbook can be signed at www.hawthornfuneralhome.com.
