Monroe Neff died May 6, 2017 in Houston TX at the age of 90. He grew up in Dallas, attended Texas A&M playing in the Aggie Band. He served in the US Army during WWII. His Doctorate of Education is from the University of Wyoming. He spent 47 years in adult and
continuing education. Monroe founded the Houston READ Council. He is the only person to serve as Chairman, Dean, and Associate Vice Chancellor of Adult/Continuing Education for Houston Community College.
Survived by his wife Patricia, their 70 year marriage was spent living in cities across the US, always calling Texas home. He was an avid tennis player who loved travel and visiting the hill country for the spring blue bonnets.
