Thomas Lilbourn Morgan
May 21, 1942 - July 08, 2017

Thomas Lilbourn Morgan, formerly of Shreveport, passed away peacefully Saturday July 8 at his home in Spring Texas. He was 75. A graveside service will begin at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Forest Park Cemetery. Officiating will be Seth Saathoff of First Presbyterian Church of Shreveport.

Tom was born in Shreveport on May 21, 1942 to Lilbourn Grey and Virginia Morgan. He was a graduate of Texas A & M College in 1964 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He returned to Shreveport to join his father in the family business, Morgan Lumber Company. During his 28 years as co-owner of Morgan Lumber, Tom was active in his community, his church and his beloved Fighting Texas Aggie alumni group: he was involved in the Junior Chamber of Commerce, was a Director with the Independence Bowl during its infancy, he was a Board Member of the Louisiana Building Materials Dealers Association, served as a deacon and later an elder of First Presbyterian Church and a member of the Texas A & M 12th Man Foundation .

When the Morgan's closed the family business in 1992, Tom moved his family to Spring, TX and applied his many years of experience in the building materials field to a career as a store manager with Home Depot. He retired in 2014.
Tom was an Aggie to his core -- both his late father and son are Aggies, and Tom could always be counted on to provide whatever support was asked of him for Aggie functions. In recent years he loved tail-gateing before games with his wife of almost 52 years, Peggy, their son, Ford and their many Aggie friends.

Tom is survived by his wife, Peggy; son, Ford, sister, Ann Morgan and her partner, Johnett Waterman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Texas A & M 12th Man Foundation.

Donations in Tom’s name may be made to the Texas A & M 12th Man Foundation or the charity of your choice.
