Allan H. Breeland, Jr.

Aug. 1, 1934 - May 19, 2017

It is with great sadness the family of Allan Harrison Breeland, Jr., announce his passing away on May 19, 2017, at the age of 82 years.

Born August 1, 1934, he died of natural causes after enduring several years of declining heart disease.

A native of Mart, Texas, Allan attended Texas A&M University from where he graduated in 1955 obtaining a B.A. degree in Mathematics. After graduation he entered the Army and settled in El Paso, Texas, when he was honorably discharged.

It was there he gained employment at White Sands Missile Range as a Research Mathematician. While living in El Paso he met and married Frances Naomi O'Dell. In 1966 Allan changed his career path, moving his family to Mart and became a math professor at Texas State Technical College, retiring from there in 1996. He married a second time to Sally Lacher in 1977.Aside from teaching, he spent many hours working on the family farm alongside his brother Lewis Breeland. He often travelled to Bozeman, MT, to spend time with his daughter, Sarah and her family.

Allan will be lovingly remembered by two daughters, Gail Breeland of Brenham, TX, and Sarah Cassavaugh (Ryan) of Bozeman, MT; one son, Kevin Breeland of Austin, TX; six grandchildren, Alexis Baker of Brenham, TX, Chad Bordovsky (Kristi) of Herndon, VA, Tara Southam (Daniel) of Shreveport, LA, Brandon Breeland of Austin, TX, Brittany Thomas (Jamahl) of Pleasanton, CA, Rosemary Cassavaugh of Bozeman, MT; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Lewis Breeland of Mart, TX; one sister, Barbara Morrow of Abilene, TX; one nephew David Breeland (Pat) of Mart, TX; one niece, LuAnn Whitaker of Abilene, TX; several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Valerie Smith in 2010.Graveside services for Allan will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 15, at the Mart Cemetery in Mart, Texas, with the Rev. Jim Ingram officiating. Littlepage Funeral Home, Mart, TX, will be directing the services.

Honorary Pall Bearers: Chad Bordovsky, Brandon Breeland, David Breeland, Ronan Smith, Jamahl Thomas, Daniel Southam, Alex Breeland and John Kuretsch.
