Graveside funeral service for FREEMAN IRBY COBB, age 91, of La Jolla, CA, formerly of Richmond, TX, will be held 11 AM Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at Morton Cemetery in Richmond, with Father Frankie Rodriguez officiating, weather permitting. If Mother Nature does not cooperate, the service will be held in an alternate location at the same time in the Private Chapel on Bert Winston's Old South Plantation north of Richmond, Texas. Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Pochyla, Chris Cobb, Jack Moore, Bill Hedrick, Jim Henry, and Mike Powers. Friends may call Monday, 4-9PM at the Private Chapel on Bert Winston's Old South Plantation north of Richmond, 5227 Skinner Lane, Richmond, TX. Mr. Cobb was born March 27, 1913, in Houston, TX He died November 19, 2004, at his home in La Jolla, CA. He was a retired American Airlines pilot, rancher, and a caring friend to all. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Samuel Cobb and Mrs. Zillab Cobb; daughter, Joan Butler; and son, Charles Cobb. Survivors include his wife, Mary Katherine Cobb of La Jolla, CA; son, Chris Cobb and his wife, Jan of Scottsdale, AZ; daughter, Suzy Coleman and husband, Dan, of Ft. Worth, TX. Memorials may be made to Morton Cemetery Association/P.O. Box 300/Richmond., TX 77406-0300, to your local Humane Society or to a charity of choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Garmany & Carden Funeral Directors, 1201 4th Street/Rosenberg, TX, 281-342-4671.
