Robert Ray Greenwood
March 17, 1929 - June 18, 2017

Robert “Bob” Ray Greenwood, age 88, of Richardson, Texas, passed away on June 18, 2017. He recently moved to Texas in January of 2017 from Syracuse New York. He was born in Prosper, Texas on March 17, 1929 to Mossie Lou Slocum and John Greenwood, Jr.

Bob graduated from Frisco High School and later graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Agricultural Engineering. He served in the US Army Artillery and was stationed in Hammelberg, Germany. After discharge from the Army, he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin.

Bob accepted a position with General Electric and moved to Syracuse, where he met and married Mary Elizabeth Danielson on December 6, 1958. They were together for 58 years.

Bob earned a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering at Syracuse University while working full time. The rest of his career was spent working for General Electric in Syracuse, New York.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mary of Richardson, Texas; two children: Jane Greenwood of Richardson, Texas and Susan Greenwood of Campbell, California; two grandchildren: Luke Goransson and Alec Goransson; a sister, Lydia Greenwood Harper; a nephew: Kirby Don Harper; and a niece: Vivian Lynn Harper.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, his brother John and a sister named Anna Bell Greenwood.

A Graveside Service will be held at Walnut Grove Cemetery in Prosper, Texas on Saturday, June 24, 2017 beginning at 10:30 AM with Dr. Danny Buster officiating.
