Eldon O Harrison
September 14, 1932 - June 20, 2017
Heaven gained a great story teller on June 20th. Dr. Eldon Harrison passed away surrounded by his family.
Eldon was born September 14, 1932 in Richardson, TX graduating from Richardson High School. He then went on to Texas A&M in the school of Veterinary Medicine graduating in 1956. He then went on to become a veterinary neuro surgeon, opening a practice in Richardson
where he had many successful years. While attending Texas A&M he was the recipient of many honors and awards too numerous to mention.
He loved Blue Grass and played the fiddle in a small band in Bonham, and loved going to the Fiddler’s Gathering when he was visiting Indiana. While living in Bonham he raised Polled Herefords as well as his veterinary practice.
On July 11, 1996 he married Peggy Dexter on the farm in Bonham. For many years they lived in Bonham, but after having open heart surgery and several strokes, they moved to Indiana to be near Peggy’s family.
Eldon is survived by three daughters, LeAnne (Tom) Stark of Nokesville, VA, Kim (Bob) McCutchan of Brookston, and Dannielle (Robert) Tignor of Battle Ground; 3 sons, Gregory of Nokesville, VA, Glen (Sandy) of Allen, TX, and Brad (Kerri) Dexter of Lafayette.
Also surviving, is one sister, Mary Huffines of Weatherord, TX, 16 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one son, Shannon Harrison of Dallas, TX. He is also survived by many, many friends. He will be missed by so many.
Eldon requested that there be no services. His wish is for all of us to celebrate the time we have and make many memories. Simplicity Funeral Care entrusted with care.
