George E. Jones
George E. Jones, 84, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 27th, 2002, at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born to the late Ollie M. Jones & Florence Eudaly on November 3, 1917 in Petrolia, Texas but was reared and educated in Iowa Park, Texas. He attended Texas A&M University. He was in the grocery business for 15 years in Iowa Park, Texas.
George met and later married Juanita Hill on May 26, 1956 in Quanah, Texas. The couple lived in Ruidoso, New Mexico for ten years where he was a Real Estate broker. Mr. and Mrs. Jones retired in Midland. Mr. Jones was a 32nd degree Mason, and a volunteer fireman, member of the Lions Club, and former president of the New Mexico Board of Realtors. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ruidoso, New Mexico. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and devoted to his family.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 2 p.m. at Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bob Porterfield of West Kentucky Baptist Church officiating. Internment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted and in the care of Reyes-Garcia Funeral Home.
His parents, and sisters Hazel Boyd and Katherine Spruill, precedes him in death.
Survivors include his wife Juanita Jones of Midland; son, Don C. Jones and wife Emma of Las Cruces, N.M.; daughter, Elizabeth Ann Hill and husband Jim of Bossier City, La.; four gandchildren; four great-grandchildren: and numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and host of friends.
