Edward P. "Pete" Goodwin
May 03, 1932 - June 18, 2017
Edward P. “Pete” Goodwin, age 85, of Payneville, KY, passed away Sunday, June 18, 2017 at his home.
Pete was born May 3, 1932 in Houston, TX to the late Charles Joseph and Audrey Bradford Goodwin. His loving wife of 54 years, Norma Ruth Goodwin; two daughters: Paulette M. and M. Alyson Goodwin; and brother, Charles J. Goodwin, Jr. also preceded him in death.
Pete was a proud, 1955 graduate of Texas A&M University. He was a US Navy veteran, reaching the rank of Lt. JG, and while stationed in San Diego, CA he met his “Gift from God,” Norma Ruth. While living in Knoxville, TN he ran a successful accounting business for 28 years. Pete loved his animals and prided his family, grandchildren, and faith above all else.
He is survived by his two children: son, Timothy “Tim” H. Goodwin, daughter, Lana L. Goodwin; honorary daughter, Bonnie (Mike) Duffy; brother, James Patrick “Pat” (Charlotte) Goodwin; grandchildren: Kyle Freeman, Benjamin Black, and Paulette Black; and several dear cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 PM EDT Saturday, June 24, 2017 from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home with burial to follow in St. George Cemetery in Brandenburg.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 23, 2017 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM EDT and Saturday, June 24 after 9:00 AM at the funeral home.
