Clifford Conway Drane II
March 02, 1946 - February 26, 2010
Clifford Conway Drane II, 63, of Brenham, widower of Jody Ann Drane, died February 26, 2010. Born March 2, 1946 in Houston to Clifford Conway and Georgia Ann Niehause Drane, he obtained a Bachelor of Economics from Sam Houston University and a Master of Economics from Texas A&M University in 1972. On September 24, 1969, he was married to Jody Ann Gamble in Houston. He served his country in the U. S. Air Force Reserves. Mr. Drane was an Economics Professor at Blinn College, and a Master Mason. A member of the American Cutting Horse Association, he enjoyed vintage cars and trucks, and tinkering has a hobby. Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Clifford Jr. and Julie Drane of Austin; daughter Kelly Drane of Brenham; grandchildren Abigail Marie Drane, Ava Elizabeth Drane, and Elias Joe Drane; sister and brother-in-law Georgia and Harvey Dyer of Spicewood. Also surviving are cousins Joe Drane, Russell Drane, Claudia Polsgrove, Lee and Glenn Seureau, Cliff and Becky Chatham and Kristin Haynsworth. Funeral services for Clifford Conway Drane II will be held Sunday, February 28 at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Charlie Matejowsky will officiate. Interment will follow in Prairie Lea Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends and relatives Saturday evening at Memorial Oaks Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Serving as pallbearers are Clifford Drane, Jr., Joe Drane, Russell Drane, Cliff Chatham, Glenn Seureau, Harvey Dyer, Carey Counsil, and Fred Estes. Honorary pallbearers are Randy Chatham, Lee Chatham, Mark Wilkening, Andy Harrington, and Johnny Schroeder. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jody Ann Drane on December 20, 2003. Memorials may be directed to Hospice Brazos Valley. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 W. Main, Brenham. 979836-4564.
