Ben Sheppard

April 1, 1984 - June 4, 2017
Born in Baytown, TX
Resided in Baytown, TX

Ben Sheppard, 33, of Baytown, was born April 1, 1984, in Baytown. He passed away Sunday, June 4, 2017, in a Houston hospital. He was a 2002 graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, a 2006 graduate of Texas A & M University, and a member of Second Baptist Church in Houston and a lifetime member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Church. He was the owner of Cannon Industrial Services. Ben was truly loved and respected by his employees and customers alike. When he walked into a room to call on customers, he would flash that grin. That grin would light up the room and people would wait for the line that came behind it. He was an avid golfer, a sport that he excelled in, and enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. Ben was generous and giving, especially when it came to helping children. He was a joyful person who loved to laugh and joke, but his true joy was his wife and children. Ben was so proud to be a dad. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances Elaine Sheppard; grandfathers, Marvin H. "Pete" Sheppard and Ben Cannon; and uncles, Ben "Pistol" Cannon and Wayne Sheppard. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Sheppard; children, Laney Sheppard and Ben Sheppard, Jr., parents, Mike and Robin Sheppard; brothers and sister-in-law, Justin Laird and Barry and Anisia Laird; sister, Margo Sheppard; grandparents, Olga Sheppard and Betty and Ken Cole; uncles and aunt, Russell Cannon and Melanie and Joe Freeman; special cousin and his wife, Jeremy and Jamie Cannon; fathers-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin Perryman, Jr. and Kristi and Tom Harrison; sister-in-law, Grace Harrison; and numerous other family members and friends.

His family will receive friends at Navarre Funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2017, at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Bayou Baptist Church, 3116 N. Alexander Dr., Baytown, TX 77520, with Dr. Mark Broussard officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Hunter Wise, Jeremy Cannon, Jay Reiter, Ricardo Moreno, Chance Lowrie, and Brent Guidry.

In lieu of usual remembrances, contributions may made to the children's charity of one's choice.
