Donald Dwayne Doiron
September 6, 1966 - June 6, 2017
Dwayne Doiron succumbed to his 10 year battle with brain cancer and passed away peacefully at home on June 6th, 2017, surrounded by his loving family.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 24 years, Shari Wallace Doiron, sons Marshall, Garrett and Carson, mother Marie Hoppe Doiron and sisters Nannette St. Cyr, husband Brian, their children Tori, Blake and Grant and Kim Fontenot, husband Kynan, their children
Taylor, Madelyn and Evan, in-laws Bill and Lynda Wallace, brother-in-law Terry Wallace, wife Beth and sons Connor and Preston.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Donald Watkins Doiron, grandparents, Hughes and Letha Doiron, Carl and Willamae Hoppe.
Dwayne’s life can only be described as one well lived. Although technically born in College Station, Texas, while his father was in Veterinary School, he was a native son of Louisiana. He grew up in a large, close knit family and was an avid outdoorsman, where
he spent most of his childhood, hunting, fishing, playing sports and enjoying the outdoors. He was the oldest of three children and grew up with his two sisters, aunts, uncles and many cousins, in Lafayette, Louisiana. He graduated from St. Thomas More High
School, in Lafayette, and excelled in multiple sports.
Although a proud child of Louisiana, his love of his college Alma Mata, Texas A&M, where he graduated with a degree in Mechanical Engineering was something very special. Although already a devout Aggie, Texas A&M took on an even more important role in his life,
as that is where he met the love of his life, Shari Wallace. Their mutual love of Texas A&M and Aggie sports was a central theme in their romance and in their lives, as they traveled the country watching their beloved Aggies play in any sport.
Knowing how important family was to Dwayne, he and Shari had 3 sons: Marshall, Garrett and Carson and his commitment to them was beyond compare. His dedication to them in everything they’ve done, was something any father would be proud to call his own. Whether
it was learning how to coach football with Marshall, sitting in the rain watching Garrett play baseball or sweating profusely in the stands while cheering on Carson in football, he and Shari had a focus of support and love for their sons in every facet of
their lives.
The family would like to thank Amazing Grace Hospice for their loving care and compassion.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Dr. Marnie Rose Foundation in support of brain cancer research.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 9, 2017, at First United Methodist Church of Katy, with Dr. Richard L.
White officiating.
