William "Bill" Charles Hurley
April 24, 1931 - November 18, 2009

William (Bill) Charles Hurley of Brainerd MN passed away on November 18th, 2009 at Mission Commons Assisted Living, Redlands, California. Services will be provided by the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Baxter, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at Brenny Funeral Chapel on December 10th, from 10 AM to 11 AM. Services will be by Father George at the Funeral Chapel followed by internment at the Jenkins City Cemetery in Jenkins, Minnesota.
William (Bill) Charles Hurley of Brainerd, Minnesota. Bill was born to William John and Ione M (Goldsmith) Hurley on April 24, 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He passed away on November 18, 2009 at Mission Commons Assisted Living in Redlands, California. He attended Bay View High School, received a BS Degree at Iowa State College, an MS at University of Missouri, and a PhD from Texas A&M University.

He is survived by his children: Anne Hurley, Mary Hurley, Judith Mata, Joann Hautejarvi, Douglas Sexton, Donna Skoglund, Frank Sexton, and Frances M Steckelberg. He will be remembered by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

During his professional life he as a professor of Cereal Chemistry, an industry leader, Chairman of the American Association of Cereal Chemists (AACC) Bakery Division, President of the AACC, Chairman of the Board of AACC.

In retirement he discovered a new fascination with computer technology and he was a Board Member of the Lake Country Computer Club and taught classes on computer technology for the Community Education department of the Pequot Lakes School District. He loved to introduce new computer users to the wonders of computing.

Bill will be remembered for his zest for life, love of all gadgets and technology, his sense of humor, and his love for his family.
