James Burrus II

James Alfred Burrus II passed away on May 20, 2017 at the age of 90. A proud Texas A&M graduate, he was born in Bonham, TX, spent much of his early life in Baytown and most of his adult life in Portland, TX. He was an accountant for Texaco for over 30 years before his retirement. He was an active member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.

James was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Pesek Burrus, and his son, Jimmy Burrus. He is survived by his daughters Jan Moody (Mike) of San Marcos and Rosanne Miles (Terry) of Portland; son Robert Burrus of Yellowstone, WY; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

There will be a visitation from 6-8pm with rosary at 7pm on Friday May 26 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland. A funeral mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday May 27 at the same location.
