Tim MegarityApril 18, 1943 - May 3, 2017David Timothy Megarity, 74, went to be with his heavenly Father on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. The family invites you to celebrate his life at a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, May 28, 2017, at Lakewood Christian Church in Waco, Texas with Rev. Richard Roland officiating. His body will be laid to rest at a private burial at Waco Memorial Park.Tim was born April 18, 1943 in Waco, Texas. He graduated from Waco High School, and entered Texas A&M with a major in physics and a minor in English. While at A&M he was a member of the Corps of Cadets' Animal 8", an air force squadron and a member of the Singing Cadets.After graduation Tim began his 44-year career in the heat if the space race with Rocketdyne in McGregor, Texas.From there he moved to Texas Instruments Equipment Group, E System Garland, Garland, Texas, and back to TI Equipment Group. Included in his tenures with TI were an assignment in northern California developing sophisticated submarine detection systems at an undisclosed naval facility and as manager of the Failure Analysis Lab in Dallas bringing with him new technologies and techniques in determining causes of electronic component failures, allowing TI to leap-frog competitors in design of radar and infrared detection systems.He joined Electrospace Systems Incorporated in Richardson, TX to work on communication systems for military aircraft. This work led him to relocate to ESI at what is today TSTC Waco Airport. His career continued through several ownerships of that facility including Chrysler Technologies Airborne Systems, Raytheon Aircraft Integration Systems, and L-3 Communications Platform Integration Division. Tim retired from L-3 as Senior Principal Multi-Discipline Engineer in April 2009.Aside from his career, Tim truly lived life to the fullest through his music, his friends and family, his church and his pets. He never stopped learning new things and trying new endeavors. He was a loving partner, brother and uncle to his family.Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Ernestine Megarity; father and mother-in-law, Bill and Lynn Lower; and his nephews, Heath Stenstom and Charles Jackson.Left to honor Tim and remember his love is his loving spouse of over 35 years, Martin Louis Lower of Waco; brother, Denny Megarity and wife, Dianna, of Cross Cut; sister, Melissa Miller and husband, Bill, of Bellville; sister-in-law, Sue Megarity of Cat Springs; sister-in-laws, Linda Carson, Patty O'Brien, and Brenda Carr and brother-in-law, Richard O'Brien, and their spouses. Tim also has seventeen nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews.The family would like to thank those at Baylor Scott and White Hillcrest and all the various specialists who took such loving care of Tim.In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions to be made to Lakewood Christian Church or Fuzzy Friends Rescue Waco, Texas.Sign the Guest Book at www.wacotrib.com
