George Warren Findley was born January 1, 1929 in Dallas, Texas, the son of Ruth Kathryn (Kittell) and Glenn Ewing Findley. He passed away April 27, 2017 at age 88. Warren and his wife, Margie were graduates of Sunset High School in Dallas, but actually met
when Margie’s brother, Jimmy, introduced him to Margie when they were attending Texas A&M University. They eloped and were married on January 28, 1950. Warren graduated from Texas A&M in 1952 and served as a Registered Professional Engineer in Texas for over
50 years. He took many a young engineer under his wing throughout his work with engineering companies, contractors, and self-employment. Warren’s family was the main focus of his life and they always knew that. Warren’s hobbies throughout his life included
water skiing, ping pong, billiards, softball, hunting and fishing. Warren is survived by his five children, Nicki Findley, Judi Findley Sellers, John Findley, Dena Findley, and Glenn Findley, six grandchildren, Carolyn, Amanda, Payton, Matthew, Nicole, and
James, and two great-grandchildren, Carolyn’s daughters Faith and Lily. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margie, his parents, his brothers, Marshall and Wayne, and his dear grandson, Nicki’s son, Andy.
Visitation with the family is 6-8 pm, Wednesday, May 3, 2017, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel. Funeral services are 12:30 pm, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Elmwood United Methodist Church in Dallas with Rev. Earnest Walt officiating. Burial will follow at the Dallas-Fort
Worth National Cemetery.
