Ramon C. Piña, age 69, passed away peacefully at a private residence with his loving family by his side when he drifted off to be with the Lord on May 5, 2017, after battling a short illness.

Born on November 4, 1947, in Elsa, TX to Guadalupe B. and Ramon D. Piña, he lived in various places with his family before settling down in Corpus Christi, TX. He earned his bachelor's degree in Engineering from Texas A&M University in College Station, TX. He held various roles within the construction industry throughout his career and has worked for Consolidated Service Company for the last 17 years.

In 1970, he married his childhood sweetheart, the only woman he has ever loved, and they remained happily married for 47 wonderful years. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two granddaughters whom he loved dearly. His friends and family will remember him by his impeccable work ethic and loyalty, his courteous and respectful demeanor towards others, his humor and infectious chuckle, and most of all, his protective nature and devotion to his family.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Elena (Mary Helen) Piña; daughter, Dina Marie Piña; son, Ramon Eduardo Piña and wife Lisa; and two granddaughters, Abby Olivia Piña and Hannah Elizabeth Piña. He is also survived by one sister, Albina (Abbie) Piña, of Corpus Christi, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe B. and Ramon D. Piña. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 11, 2017 at Prince of Peace Catholic Church. Service will conclude at the church.
