Eugene “Boots” Foerster

Dr. Eugene P. “Boots” Foerster was born on June 9, 1932, to Paul and Erna (Sommers) Foerster in Vernon.He graduated from Quanah High School in 1949, and served in the USAF from 1951 to 1955. He received his Bachelor’s of Mechanical Engineering from Texas A&M in 1959, a Master’s in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech University in 1965, and his PhD from Arizona University in Agriculture Engineering in 1969. Eugene began his teaching career at Texas Tech University in 1969. He met the love of his life in 1976, Jane Davis and they married May 11, 1979. Eugene had the opportunity while at Texas Tech University to see and travel the world and teach what he loved. He retired in 1990, and they moved to Brownwood in 1999, and then to Abilene In 2007.Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Lonita Duty and a brother, Elroy Foerster.He is survived by his wife, Jane of Abilene; two daughters, Ashley Gibson and husband Blaine of Lubbock, and Jennifer White and husband Dusty of San Angelo; a son, Justin Foerster and wife Tiffany of Abilene; five grandchildren, Emily, Rylie, Taylor, Landon, and Aiden; a brother, M.W. Foerster; and two sisters, Elda Raschke and Jeanell Kilgore.Thank you to all the staff at Homestead Nursing in Baird, TX and Kinder Hearts Hospice for all your love and support.

Dr. Eugene Boots Foerster LUBBOCK-Dr. Eugene P. Foerster PhD of Abilene, Texas, beloved husband and father, grandfather, son and brother went to be with the Lord on May 2, 2017.
