Billie Rae Rippy, Jr.
Born: February 5, 1954
Died: March 26, 2017
Location: Washington, District Of Columbia

Billie Rae Rippy, Jr, who went by Rae, was born on February 5, 1954 in Blanco, TX, and died on March 26th, 2017 in Washington DC. He is survived by his four adult children and their families, Jill York Maddox, Katie Rippy Naylor, Hunter Rippy and Heather Rippy, with ex-wife and friend, Linda Frost. He is also survived by his father, Billie Rae Rippy Sr, his sister Laura Bruton, and his brother Lance Rippy, and their respective families.
Rae graduated from Texas A&M University and worked as a geologist for nearly 20 years. After he left geology, he started his own children's entertainment business with partner, Dennis Lee, which he operated for the next 17 years.
In the most recent years, Rae pursued his passion of the study and preservation of history and science, specifically heritage management. His passion took him to Greece, where he attended the University of Kent in Athens, and will graduate with honors, to receive his Masters Degree, posthumously, on May 12, 2017.
Upon his return from Greece in 2016, he settled in Washington DC, to be near his 4 grown children and their families. His final work was volunteering at the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History.
Our father, Rae Rippy, will be terribly missed, and his memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He touched the lives of everyone he met, and was loved by everyone.
Please consider making a donation in Rae Rippy's name to either the Smithsonian's Museum of Natural History or to the Badlands National Park in South Dakota, as these were our dad's passions.
