David Lane Bevels
January 28, 1950 - April 23, 2017

David Lane Bevels, 67, of Clifton passed away Sunday, April 23, 2017, at Providence Hospital. The family will hold a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, Clifton.

David was born January 28, 1950 in Waxahachie, to Roy Lee and Betty Jo (Winn) Bevels. After graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1968, he attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science degree. On June 14, 1974, he married Kimberly Beth Houghteling. David took pride in his career as a ranch manager and pasture management. Aside from his career, he took a strong interest in volunteering. He was Trustee for First United Methodist Church, Board President of the Bosque County Farm Bureau, and worked with the Central Texas Youth Fair. Over the years, he received several Superior Volunteer Awards. He served his country in the Army National Guard for 6 years.

David’s passions in life were his family, camping, golfing, gardening, dutch oven cooking, and volunteering his time to serve the Lord. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend. His grandgirls meant the world to him. He was known for his quick wit and great sense of humor.

Preceding him in death were his parents and daughter, Kari Rebeka Bevels.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Kim Bevels; daughters, Stefanie Pick and husband, David, of Bella Vista, AR and Casey Sadler and husband, Donnie, of China Spring; four beautiful granddaughters, Averi, Laney, Sydney and Olivia; brothers and sister, Phillip Crouch and wife, Belinda, Scott Crouch and wife, Lisa, John Crouch, and Kim Butler, all of Waxahachie.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, P.O. BOX 529, Clifton, TX 76634. Central Texas Youth Fair, P.O. BOX 562 Clifton, TX 76634. The Kari Bevels Memorial Fund, at FNB, Bosque County, or to a charitable organization of your choice.
