James Adrian Dewees, was born in the "Lone Star State" Texas on September 11, 1948, and passed on March 4, 2017 at INOVA Alexandria Hospital. He was a loving husband and an inspirational Father, who will be missed by all who knew him.

James "Jim" Adrian Dewees, 68, a resident of Fernandina Beach, went home to be with his Savior on Saturday, March 4, 2017, unexpectedly of sudden cardiac arrest in Alexandria, Va., while cheering on the Kentucky Wildcats vs. Texas A&M game while working out.
He was living and working in Alexandria. Mr. Dewees was born Sept. 11, 1948, in Yoakum, Texas, to Adrian and Mary Dewees. He was married to the love of his life of 40 years, Marion "Marty" Locklear Dewees. They met in San Antonio and married Sept. 10, 1976,
in Wichita, Kan. Mr. Dewees spent the last few years working full-time for the U.S. Postal Service headquarters in Washington, D.C., as an ergonomic engineer. He was owner of Ergo Accommodation LLC, serving the northern Kentucky tri-state area, and a loyal
graduate of Texas A&M University, Wichita State University and the University of Cincinnati. Jim was an organ donor, and his main focus was his faith, family, friends and his job. He was preceded in death by his parents. Mr. Dewees is survived by his loving
wife; son, Dr. Aaron Dewees (Courtney) of Newburgh, Ind., and their six children; and daughter, Adrienne Talbert (Shane) of Fernandina Beach and their four children. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 9, on the beaches of Amelia Island to celebrate
his life, wedding anniversary and birthday. Memorials may be made in his honor to a Christian organization of your choice. Whatever we may have to go through now is less than nothing compared with the magnificent future God has planned for us. – Romans 8:18
