Walter Marvin Goff
(September 2, 1938 - April 21, 2017)
A funeral Mass for Walter Marvin Goff of San Antonio, TX, will be held at 1:30 PM Monday, April 24, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 1416 George St, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Interment will follow at Davis Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX 77471.
Visitation will be held at the church prior to the Mass from 12 noon to 1:00 PM, with a Rosary at 1:00 PM.
Walter was born September 2, 1938 in Refugio, TX to William and Ina Mae Goff. He passed away at his home in San Antonio, TX at the age of 78.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Meyer Goff; daughter, Rebecca Neill and husband, Travis; son, Walter Goff and wife, Pamela; four grandchildren, Shannon Decena and husband, Roman Decena II, Wally Goff, Nikki Goff, and Darby Neill; and one great grandson, Roman Decena III. Walter was preceded in death by his parents, William Taft Goff and Ina Mae Moore Goff.
He received his BBA from Texas A&M in 1960 and MBA from Southern Illinois University in 1973.
Walter was a Colonel in the United States Air Force were he served in Japan, Viet Nam and South Africa from 1960 to 1984. He received numerous awards including: Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross, Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Air Force Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters.
He worked as a pilot simulator instructor for American Airlines from 1987 to 2009.
Memorials may be given to: Alzheimer’s Association, 6055 South Loop East, Houston, TX 77087-1005 or to a charity of your choice.
