Jennifer Marie Brown
December 8, 1972 - April 10, 2017

Jennifer Marie Brown was born to Diane Dohs Young and Kurt R. Young on December 8, 1972. She was the youngest of three children, and the only one born in Pittsburgh, PA. Her older siblings, Jeff and Karen, were born in New Jersey. They recall many long driving adventures to see cousins and grandparents and playing the license plate game or punch buggie to pass the time. As a child, her nickname was Fuff Nuph.

She graduated from McCullough High School in The Woodlands, Texas in 1991 and from Texas A&M University in 1995. She proudly wore her Aggie Ring every day! Jennifer worked as a Program Director at Raytheon in McKinney, TX. Raytheon was part of her family, she started there after college and stayed for 21 years. On Fridays, Raytheon employees wear red to remember everyone deployed and serving our country. Those wonderful people decided that they wanted to design a red shirt to wear on Fridays to remember Jen who was "deployed" away from them. Together they worked with her sister-in-law to design a shirt with "#fearless Team JB 2017."

Jennifer was married to Jody Brown on July 12th, 1997 in The Woodlands, Texas. Jody was the love of her life and her rock. He supported her in all that she did, and she him. They were true best friends and a wonderful example of love and commitment to everyone around them. They have a son Garrett, aged 18 years, and a daughter Gracie, aged 14 years. Jen and her family were members of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco, TX.

Jen was an amazing example of strength with unmatched optimism. That is why this is so shocking for everyone that followed her journey. Recently, she started blogging her journey and emotions. We all laughed and cried, but mainly laughed, as we read each entry in her daily blog "My Journey through this Crazy Thing Called Cancer" https://fearlessjb.wordpress.com/. She wanted to keep everyone in the loop about her treatment, but she used her wit and humor as she described each day.

Jennifer enjoyed hanging out with her family watching sports, going to the movies, or just talking. She worked out with her trainer and was focused on being in the best shape possible. She participated in nine 3 Day walks. Not only did she complete all 60 miles for each walk, but she raised money to support others and trained to better herself and the lives of others. She also took up running and seemed to be competing every week in a 5k, 10k, or half marathon race. There was always a selfie at the event displaying that signature smile. She was so excited about participating in the Las Vegas Rock n' Roll Marathon in November. "Run the Strip at night? I'm there!" she said. Jen also enjoyed playing Pokémon Go! Anytime she caught something cool, she would immediately text her family.

Jen loved the Twilight movies so much that she channeled her inner Bella throughout her endless blood transfusions, always laughing or making funny comments. Jen also loved watching marathons of Law & Order SVU with her sister Karen on the phone watching with her. She also enjoyed Once Upon a Time and her Texas Aggies! When travelling, Jen's mom would say "PTTPTDC – Please Tell the Pilots to Drive Carefully," and Jen used it too!

Jennifer was loved by all who knew her and will be greatly missed. We all know in our hearts that Jen would want us to go on, as she did, #fearless over anything that life may throw our way.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. George R. Dohs; paternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Kurt Young; maternal aunt, Caroline Dohs DeBaun; paternal aunts, Diane Young Wolff and Linda Young Ostrander Copp.

Jennifer is survived by her parents, Kurt R. Young and Diane Dohs Young of The Woodlands, TX; husband, Jody Brown of Frisco, TX; children, Garret Brown and Gracie Brown; siblings, Karen Maddox of Plano, TX and Jeff Young & his wife Melissa of The Woodlands, TX; nieces, Emily Maddox and Natalie James; nephews, Nick Maddox, Liam Young, and Luke Young; cousins, Ron DeBaun, Barbara Debaun, Stephanie Belding, Lela Rondeau, Christine Wolff, and Chelsea Sturgeon; and cats, Scotchie, Cassie, and Ginger.

Jesus was seen hurrying towards Heaven's Gate. He knew that Jennifer was coming home today. When she came in he took her in Heaven's Arms. No words were spoken. John wrote the words long ago "For God so loved Jennifer that he sent his son so she would live forever." Praise God.
