John M. Richards
Age: 97
Born: 05/01/1919
Died: 04/15/2017

John and his wife Monty (who predeceased him) were long time residents of Deerfield Plantation, members of Surfside United Methodist Church and active in the community.

He served his country proudly during WW II in the US Army and retired at the rank of Major after 18 years of active and reserve service.

John graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and worked for Gulf Oil Corporation in the U.S. and abroad. He retired after 42 years with the company.

Always a golf lover, he got that illusive “hole in one” in 1988.

He is survived by his daughter Susie and her husband Ed of Myrtle Beach, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.

John will be sorely missed by all his family and many friends.
