April 5, 2017

Bob Rabe, after a brief struggle with cancer, entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on April 5, 2017, at his home in Mount Vernon, WA.

Bob was born to Christian & Wilma Rabe on December 14, 1932 in El Paso, Texas.

He enlisted in the US Army in 1958. While in service he met and married his wife, Emyle Olmstead, on July 4, 1960 in Modesto, CA.

Bob graduated from Texas A & M with a degree in Veterinary medicine. In 1965, he graduated from Dallas Seminary, with a Masters of Theology degree. Bob was a member of Gideon's International, Skagit Camp.

As a teenager his main interest was riding his horse, on the sand hills, east of El Paso Texas. By the time Bob entered college he owned 3 horses. Bob was dedicated to his faith in God and His Lord Jesus Christ. In later years, Bob's main hobby was taking pictures of his family, friends and, of Israel.

Bob was preceded in death by his 8 year old brother, his father and mother.

He is survived by his wife, Emyle Rabe, sons Mark Rabe, Paul Rabe & David (Shelbie) Rabe; and daughter Gayle Johnson. Grandsons Brandon, Blake, Bret and Marcus. Granddaughters Jordan Emyle and Kensington Rue.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00PM, Sunday, April 23, 2017. The service will be held at Grace Presbyterian Church, meeting at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 4520 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, WA.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions may be made to The Gideons International, PO Box 97251, Wa. DC., 20090-7251, or our Hospice of the Northwest, 227 Freeway Drive, Suite A, Mount Vernon, WA 98273.

Arrangements are under the care of Kern Funeral Home of Mount Vernon.
