Jake Toolen Dameron, 68, of Bluff Dale, passed away Monday, April 10, 2017, at home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, April 14th, at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Church in Stephenville officiated by Pastor Ed Dittfurth and Reverend Tim Ware. Interment will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Bluff Dale. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Jake was born on June 6, 1948 in Bryan, Texas to Taylor and Laura Dameron. He married Jane Grumbles on September 6, 1969 and graduated from Texas A&M University in May 1970. Jake became an employee of Texas Parks and Wildlife and served in park management for 30 years. Twenty-three of those years he also served as a park peace officer. After retirement, Jake and Jane moved to the Dameron family ranch near Bluff Dale and became members of Cornerstone Church.

Jake is survived by his mother, Laura Dameron, of Stephenville, his wife of 47 years, Jane, his three daughters and their husbands: Rachel and Tim Ware of Glenn Heights, Sarah and Chris Hernandez of The Woodlands, Martha Kay and Zuri Cortez of Pflugerville; four grandchildren: Elizabeth and Caleb Ware and Naomi and Christopher Hernandez; four siblings and their spouses: Clay and Debra Dameron of Stephenville, Laura and Mike Chester of Fort Worth, Charles and Louise Dameron of Pittsburg, and Ray and Marty Dameron of Colleyville. He is also survived by numerous other extended family members.

The Dameron family wishes expressions of sympathy be made in the form of memorial gifts to Cornerstone Church 950 Glen Rose Rd, Stephenville, TX 76401 or Gideons International.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 13th, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 14th, at 3:00 PM at Cornerstone Church in Stephenville. The service will be officiated by Pastor Ed Dittfurth and Reverend Tim Ware. Interment will follow the service and be at Wesley Chapel Cemetery near Bluff Dale.

Memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church or Gideons International.
