Elizabeth "Beth" Elvig
January 6th, 1960 — April 16th, 2017

Elizabeth "Beth" Jean Wright Elvig: intelligent, honest, ethical, loyal, direct, loving, accepting of all. She truly made this world a better place and touched countless lives.

Beth married her "best friend" John Elvig on April 14 of 1990 in Austin, TX. They were blessed with two daughters, Lauren Ruth and Caroline Elizabeth. These two strong, intelligent girls have provided such meaning and joy to both John and Beth. Beth was often an organizer and always top cheerleader at all of the girls' events. With John and Beth's guidance, Lauren and Caroline have grown to be confident women leaders who embrace differences and are advocates of a more accepting society and loving world. These two are already following in both of their parents' footsteps and making the world a better place!

Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, to Anne and John Wright, Beth was the youngest of three girls. She and her sisters Mary Anne and Barbara had an incredibly close bond, a bond that Beth cherished and talked of often. Family and tradition were always of utmost importance to Beth. Over the years, she regaled those around her with endless stories and memories of her mother and daddy, sisters, and extended family. She especially loved her visits with them to the beach, and she continued to find great pleasure in any beach she could visit. As most know, Beth was quite articulate. Most of us felt like we actually knew the subjects of her stories even if we'd never set foot in Texas.

Texas A&M University. What more can we say about her alma mater? Graduating with a degree in Industrial Engineering, Beth lived and breathed Texas A&M. You could hear her scream from two houses away whenever her Aggies were playing on TV. She frequently visited the campus as well, never tiring of football games, Maroon Out, and Midnight Yell Practice. Nobody could talk about University of Texas ("tu") in front of her without receiving an icy stare; of course she made loving exceptions for several of her Longhorn nieces. Her excitement of A&M was contagious as many of us found ourselves hyperextending our thumbs, yelling "Gig 'em Aggies"!

Beth was a friend, mother, and care provider to all who walked through her door. For this reason, many decided to stay for a while. Several nieces even took up short-term residence in their home, each at different times. Beth is often remembered for sharing words of wisdom and a glass of wine with her dear friends and neighbors in Louisville, Colorado. This strong woman will truly be missed!

Beth is survived by her husband John Elvig; her daughters Lauren Elvig (Jason West) and Caroline Elvig; her sisters Barbara Wright and Mary Anne Wright Wilson (Steve Wilson); Aunt Betty Addison (Jim Addison); Uncle William Wright (Mary Wright); brothers-in-law Dave Elvig (Robin Elvig), Glenn Elvig, and Ric Most (Chris Most); sister-in-law Andrea Blosberg (Dean Blosberg); nieces and nephews Lindsay Bolser, Ashley Carter (Will Carter), Kate Bolfing (Tony Bolfing), Tony Davis (Heather Davis), Keely Rex (Gabe Rex), Kristin Teeters (Josh Teeters), Cole Wilson, Danielle Most (Peter Cherukuri), Hans Harlane (Sonja Harlane), Jessica Blosberg, Emily Blosberg, Peter Blosberg, Sophie Elvig, Anna Elvig, and Gretel Elvig.

Her grand nieces and nephews include Carter Bolser, Elliott Carter, Davis Bolfing, Dylan Bolfing, Dalton Bolfing, Hayden Davis, Claire Davis, Blake Davis, Brody Rex, and Brooks Rex.

Let's raise a glass of Chardonnay to celebrate this amazing woman! We know she's having a joyous reunion with her mother and her daddy...and hopefully Heaven has a beach!
