Jack Warren Culberson, Sr.
September 25, 1926 - April 09, 2017

Jack W. Culberson, Sr., went home to our Lord and Savior on April 9, 2017.
Jack was born on September 25, 1926, in Mexia, TX, to Oran L. and Louise Kunze Culberson.
He graduated from Luling High School in 1943 and attended Texas A&M College. He enlisted in the Navy after his sophomore year and achieved the rank of Ensign. He returned to Texas A&M and graduated in 1949 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
He married Lanetta Terry on April 11, 1949, in Seguin, Texas.
Jack began his oil field career after graduation and worked for several companies which took him and his family to Pampa, McAllen, and Corpus Christi. In 1962 he relocated his family to Victoria, where he founded Culberson Well Services, Inc. In addition to his own successful business, Jack helped form numerous oil field companies in south Texas.
While in Victoria, he was an active member in the Victoria API Chapter and the Association of Energy Servicing Contractors. Jack was a founding member of the South Texas Oil and Gas Exposition and Westminster Bible Church. After retiring, Jack and Lanetta moved to Fredericksburg, TX, in 1984, where they were very active in Fredericksburg Bible Church.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, devoted and loving wife of 64-1/2 years, Lanetta, and brother, Oran Lanier Culberson.
Jack is survived by his sister, Janice Peek of California; his son, Jack W. Culberson, Jr. (Jay) and his wife, Sherry, of Montgomery, Texas; his daughter, Kay Culberson Jones; son Dr. Thomas L. Culberson and wife, Joanne; and son, Alan L. Culberson, and his wife, Jane, all of Victoria, Texas. He was a beloved grandfather to eleven grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 13, at 11:00 a.m. at Fredericksburg Bible Church, 107 E. Austin Street, Fredericksburg, TX. A reception will be held after the service in the church Fellowship Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fredericksburg Bible Church Benevolence Fund.
