Glen H. Hagler
May 28, 1931 - March 18, 2017
Glen Hartsell Hagler was born May 28, 1931 in Harlingen, Texas to Helen Starkey Hagler and John Arthur Hagler. He passed away March 18, 2017 at the age of 85.

Glen proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and fought at the Chosin Reservoir; one of the bloodiest battles of the Korean War. He remained a proud Marine until his death and was well known for greeting friends and strangers with a Semper Fi and taking time to make sure they understood its meaning saying "Semper Fi a Marine and he/she will be your friend for life". Sometimes he followed up by singing a rendition of the Marine Corps Hymn.

After his discharge from the Marines, he returned to Texas and attended Texas A & M University, earning a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Following a successful career in the aerospace industry, which included many years in various missile programs with McDonald Douglas Aircraft, he pursued his real passion and joined the Anaheim Police Department as a reserve officer. His first duty was working patrol and then as the range master training and qualifying the officers, snipers and swat at locations throughout Southern California. Glen shot competitively and earned numerous trophies and plaques for his skills as a sharp shooter.

Glen was forever a Patriot and in his 80's joined the Border Patrol Auxiliary spending many days surveilling the California/Mexican border….all the while running his own private investigative business.

In addition to shooting, he loved to snow ski, golf, and oil paint. Glen is survived by his wife Shaaron, four children, four step-children, ten grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, two brothers and a sister.

Services will be held at the Riverside National Cemetery at 9:45 a.m., Friday, April 7, 2017.
