Timothy Michael Wilson
Class of 1983
April 7, 1961 – January 26th, 2017

Tim Wilson, Class of ’83 passed away on January 26th, 2017. He was a loving husband, father, brother, son-in-law, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend to many. He is survived by his cherished family; his wife of 26 years, Sheri, a daughter Katie, and two sons Mike, and Sam. He is also survived by his brothers, Kevin, Steve, and Greg Wilson, their spouses and multiple nieces and nephews. He was pre-ceded in death by his parents, John and Marva Sue Wilson.

Before settling in Texas, Tim lived in several states in the US, as well as Indonesia, and England. His family settled in Richardson, TX and he attended JJ Pearce High School. His summers were spent in Durango CO at the family cabin. “The lake” was Tim’s favorite place on Earth. He was an avid fly-fisherman, and outdoorsman. He passed on the love of the lake, and the outdoors to his wife and children.

Tim’s love of Texas A&M started in fall of 1979. He was in the Corps of Cadets, P2 unit, as well as a Ross Volunteer. His allegiance to his Aggie’s was fierce. After graduation, he received his commission into the United States Marine Corp and was honorably discharged as a Captain in 1988. While serving in the Marine’s, Tim received the Navy Commendation Medal for saving another Marines life by preforming CPR.

His professional career began as an Operations Manager for a transportation company, and then a sales manager. He transitioned into a 20-year sales career in the telecommunications industry. In the spring of 2017 he would have celebrated 16-years with Alpheus Communications as Director of Carrier Sales.

Tim was an avid reader of history, mainly the history of WW II and it’s many battles. He was a storyteller and loved to share his wisdom and experience with anyone who listened. He didn’t pass on an opportunity to tell a friend a story, or make a new friend by the sharing of a story. Tim had a dynamic personality and enjoyed the camaraderie of his soccer team of over 25 years and the guys he met for weekly basketball pick-up games. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, teammates, and colleagues.
