Randolph Sidney (Sid) King Jr.
December 1, 1934 - March 20, 2017
Sid King, 82, passed away March 20, 2017. He was a kind man with a great sense of humor and high intelligence, who loved his family, friends, Texas A&M and his dogs.
He spent his life with a curiosity about many things and a love of learning. One of his greatest joys was telling 'stories' about his friends and family with a twinkle in his eye and a chuckle in his voice. He could never pull a prank on someone without giving
himself away when he broke up in laughter.
He was raised in an oilfield camp near Sinton, Texas where the other camp kids were his brothers and sisters. Since he was born into a proud Aggie family, he attended Texas A&M College, receiving his BS in Civil Engineering and MS in Structural Engineering.
He founded Sid King Construction and built and engineered many buildings throughout his career. He was a gifted structural engineer and continued to do consulting work throughout his life.
He was born 12/1/34 to Randolph Sidney King, Sr. and Martha Ruth Harlan King in Temple, Texas. He is survived by his wife, Sue, sons Kyle and Kirk and beloved granddaughter, Sydney Elizabeth, as well as his step-daughters, Robin Arrington Blum, husband Craig,
and Holly Lavender, husband Jerry and son Ryan.
Visitation will be from 6 pm – 8 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home. Memorial service will be at 3 pm, Friday, March 24, 2017 at Restland Wildwood Chapel. Memorials may be made to madysangels.org.
