Clifton Ellsworth Carter
November 26, 1940 ~ March 15, 2017 (age 76)

Clifton Ellsworth Carter, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Hoyt House.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M., Monday, March 20, 2017 at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Wayne Kirk officiating. Burial will follow at Garden of Memories.

Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, March 19, 2017 from 5:00 - 8:00 PM.

Clifton was born on November 26, 1940 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Herman E. and Nona V. (Fraser) Carter. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a longtime member of First Assembly of God church where he served as a deacon. He also was a bass player and singer at the church.. He owned and managed real estate properties. He loved playing his guitar and listening to music. He also loved plants, especially cactus and succulents. He had a B.S. Degree in Horticulture from Texas A & M University.

He is survived by his brother, Tommy Carter and wife Diane of Nixa, Missouri, niece, Rebecca Brown and husband Greg, nephew, Derek Carter and wife Holly, three great nephews, three great nieces and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nona V. Carter.

Pallbearers will be Derek Carter, Greg Brown, Patrick O'Neal, Michael O'Neal, Steve Russell, and Larry Weaver.
