Dalton "Charlie" Charles Ingraham

September 5, 1924 - March 13, 2017

Dalton Charles “Charlie” Ingraham, 92, of Nederland, died Monday, March 13, 2017. He was born on September 5, 1924, in Beaumont, to Edna V. Robinson Ingraham and Charles Warren Ingraham.

Charlie graduated from South Park High School. He was in the United States Army during World War II and was stationed in New Guinea/Philippines. Charlie was on a nearby ship in Tokyo Bay when Japan surrendered. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor’s degree in Physical Education. Charlie loved sports and played on baseball leagues, and coached girls softball. He loved to travel. Charlie was a member of the ACES and had a 1951 Ford.

Survivors include his sons, Charles Douglas Ingraham and his wife, Rose and Tim Alan Ingraham and his wife, Darleen; daughters, Marlin Jane Thorp and her husband, Paul and Zoe Edna Irwin and her husband, David; eight grandchildren and spouses; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife of seventy-years, Edith Evelyn Ingraham; parents; brother, Chester Ingraham; and sisters, Shirley Combest, Dortha Bernauer; and Margie Cox.

A gathering of Mr. Ingraham’s family and friends will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Sunday, March 19, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 104 13th Street, Nederland. His funeral service will be 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 20, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, with interment to follow at Oak Bluff Memorial Park, Port Neches.
