Robert Lee Yeager
1934 - 2017

Robert L. Yeager of Schoolcraft, Michigan was surrounded by his beloved family as he went home to his Lord and Savior on Saturday the 18th of March, 2017. Bob was born December 31, 1934 in Amarillo, Texas the son of Robert L. Yeager and Mary Lucille Robberson Yeager. He received his BS and Master’s degree from Texas A&M University and attended Indiana University for further graduate studies. He was forever proud of his Alma mater and considered himself a true “Aggie”. He joined the Upjohn Company in 1961 and retired after 33 years of service. In 1979 he was presented with the W.E. Upjohn Award.
On July 3th, 1957 Bob and Donna Wynell Weatherred were married. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Ben Allen Yeager. Bob is survived by his wife Wynell, daughters Rhonda Vroman (Doug) and Becky Slager (Peter). Bob cherished his family including his grandchildren Jessica Blevins (Brad), Douglas Vroman Jr. (Angela), Chance, Emily, Jeramiah and Kylee Vroman and Lucas Slager, and great grandchildren Annabelle and Gabriella Blevins and Alicia Vroman. He is also survived by his sister Hylasue Yeager Walker of Amarillo, TX, a sister in law Patricia Yeager of McKinney, Texas and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Bob loved to learn and was an avid reader. He enjoyed many special relationships throughout his lifetime and had a gift for nurturing others. He maintained friendships from childhood and college, in addition to having many friends from both Michigan and New Mexico. He enjoyed golf in his younger years and was a lifelong fan of all Texas A&M sports. He was an avid hunter for much of his life and enjoyed hunting adventures throughout the US and Canada. Most of all he cherished his family, spending time with his wife, and watching his grandchildren in there many pursuits including softball, wrestling, hockey and baseball among others. He will be greatly missed and cherished forever.
Following his request cremation has taken place. A private gathering will be held at a later date. Bob requested any memorials be directed to the Mattawan Community Church Mattawan, MI or Chapman Memorial Church of the Nazarene Vicksburg MI.
