Johnny Robert Hester
October 15, 1948 - March 3, 2017
Visitation for Johnny Robert Hester, 68, of Dallas, is scheduled from 6-8 pm, Tuesday, March 7, 2017. Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 2pm. Both gatherings will be held at Lloyd James Funeral Home.

Johnny Hester was born and raised in Tyler, Texas. He was a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School class of 1966. He went on to continue his studies in the first civilian class at Texas A&M University, and graduated in 1971. He eventually would earn his Master's degree from Texas A&M, and was a proud supporter of the Texas A&M Foundation.

Johnny served in the United States Air Force as a Telecommunications Specialist and was stationed at Incirlik Airforce Base in Adana, Turkey during the Vietnam War. After his time in the service, he went on to have a career as a Claim's Adjuster in the Insurance industry for nearly 30 years.

He was an adventurer who loved road trips, a creative mind who enjoyed photography and appreciated art, a fun loving soul who loved to laugh, and a reverent being who knew how to honor others and God. Johnny spent many hours with family and friends at NASCAR events, Texas Ranger's games, and like a good Texan, appreciating all things Dallas Cowboys and Texas A&M football. Johnny is described by those who know and love him as being a consistent, loyal, man of his word. His legacy includes knowing Jesus and sharing Him with his children.

Johnny was preceded in death by his father E.R. Hester, Jr. and his mother, Inez Hester Hagan. He is survived by his children Leigh-Taylor Hester and John Hester; his grandsons, Isaac Hester and Wyatt Hester; his sister, Lynette Pierce; his step- sisters Paul Hagan and Donna Johnson; his nephew, Blake Pierce; and his long- time partner and best friend, Becky Lea. Pallbearers are: John Hester, John Pierce, George Muszejnski, Boyce Whatley, Brian Rawson, and Justin Shelton.

To support Johnny's passion of God's work in Israel, in lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute. www.mjbi.org.
