George Lee Streit
(April 23, 1950 - February 27, 2017)

George Lee Streit, age 66, of Electra, Texas passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at the Electra Memorial Hospital.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2017, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara with Rev. Sam Wirgau officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 3, 2017 at Aulds Funeral Home of Electra.

George was born April 23, 1950 in Vernon, Texas to the late George Oscar Streit and Martha Lee Ribble Streit.

He graduated from Electra High School and then from Texas A & M with a degree in Agronomy.

George married the love of his life, Karen Anita Wilson, on September 9, 1972 in Madisonville, Texas.

In 1972, he returned to Electra where he was a farmer and rancher. He also was employed at the Allred Prison for over twenty years where he retired as a captain. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Clara.

Survivors include his wife, Karen Anita of Electra; one daughter, Angela Streit Morgan of Wichita Falls; one son, Kyle Streit and wife, Bobbie of Electra; two sisters, Judy Reck of Arlington and Diane Lippe and husband, Larry of Sequin; two grandsons, Weston and Cache Streit of Electra; and several nieces and nephews.

He was also preceded in death by his son-in-law, Thomas Morgan.

The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church of Clara, 11867 FM 1813, Iowa Park, Texas 76367.
