Harry Stanton Johnson
(September 9, 1922 - July 9, 2014)
Harry Stanton Johnson, 91, of Hemphill, died Wednesday evening at his home. He was born in Port Arthur, Texas, to Dockard and Rosemary Stanton Johnson. Harry worked as a physicist for DuPont and moved to Hemphill from Virginia after retirement in 1980. He received his degree in physics from Texas A&M University, served in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and a life member of American Legion and V.F.W. Post 10351.
He is survived by his daughters; Barbara Rams and her husband Ken of Hemphill, Elizabeth Talbert and her husband Russell of Charles City, VA, Dee Ann Holcomb and her husband Wayne of Kissimee, FL, three grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his wife Jacqueline Cecile Johnson and his son Charles Neal Johnson.
A visitation of family and friends will be held Monday, July 14, 2014, from 7:00PM until 9:00PM in the family home on 107 Stagecoach Rd. in the Old Sabinetown Community near Hemphill, Texas.
