Susan “Susie” B. Shepherd, 65, passed away in her home on February 10, 2017, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Buffalo, New York on January 16, 1952.
Susie graduated from Carroll High School class of 1970 and was a graduate of Texas A&M class of 1975. She taught for a combined 32 years at Baker Middle School, W.B. Ray High School and London Middle School and High School. As an educator, she enjoyed being
around the kids and had a great love for them and teaching.
She is preceded by her parents, Hope Freeman and Jane Kearns; and her brother, Jimmy Freeman.
She leaves behind to cherish her memories her beloved husband of 28 years, Dave Shepherd; her loving children, Brian (Christina), Graham and Summer; grandchildren, Mallary, Stefan and Brannan; niece, Chelsea; and nephew, Aaron.
Susie was an accomplished potter and a member of the Barry Brown Clay Studio; she loved spending time with all her mud buddies.
For all their support over the years and throughout this time, the family would like to extend a special thank you to Cindy Grish, Judy Stuckey, Lucille Gonzales, Jeanie Gordon, Debbie Booker, Debbie Sander and all the ladies in ‘the hood’ – Susie loved every
one of you.
Visitation will be held at Memory Gardens Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 12, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. with a Funeral Service to begin at 2:00 p.m. Services will conclude in the chapel.
