C.A. Austin(1927 - 2017)
July 15, 1927 - February 5, 2017
C.A. AUSTIN, loving husband, father and grandfather passed away February 6, 2017. He was born to Clifford and Jewel Austin July 15, 1927 and spent his childhood in Alice, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University, Class of '48.

Mr. Austin served in the US Coast Guard during WWII. He was a great tennis player, winning many tournaments during his lifetime. C.A. was a true Texas Aggie, member of the A&M Club, Alzafar Shrine, and a longtime member of University United Methodist Church (UUMC) and sang every week with the Silver Buckets. He was employed at University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio for many years as Bookstore Director before his retirement.

C.A. was predeceased by his eldest son, Stephen Austin; and is survived by his beloved wife, Patty Austin; son, Wesley (Suzette) Austin; grandsons: Clifford (Sara), Dale (Rachel), A.J. (Meredith), and Peyton Austin; and great grandson, Travis Austin; step children: Darla Caughey, Ron and Troy (Dorothy) Pocher; step grandchildren: Nicholas Russell, McKenna and Kelton Caughey, Leah Sumrell; plus numerous loving nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of His Life will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, February 20, 2017 at University United Methodist Church, 5084 DeZavala, San Antonio, TX 78249. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to UUMC or .

The Austin family extends thanks to William Courtney Veterans Home, Temple, and Compassus Hospice for care they provided Mr. Austin.
