Larry Manning Roderick was born on August 25, 1942 to Dorothy Manning and Gene Roderick in Midland, Texas. On Sunday, February 5, 2017 Larry stepped into the arms of Jesus while surrounded by his loving family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, and brothers Don Roderick and Rodney Roderick.

He is survived by his wife, Diana Price Roderick, his son, Brett Roderick and wife Lori, his daughter, Michelle Taylor and husband Jessie Taylor, and all of his five grandchildren, James, Jessica, Ryan, Katie, and Jackson all of College Station, Texas. He is also survived by his sister, Dorothy Roderick Strickland of Midland, Texas and several nieces and nephews.

Larry received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Industrial Engineering from Texas Tech University. He received his PhD in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University.

Before becoming a professor, he worked for eighteen years in the engineering and manufacturing fields. He was a professor at Texas A&M University, University of Texas El Paso and up until his death at Tarleton State University in Stephenville. He has authored several books including "It's Bad Business to Injure Your Customer" and "The God Gene". He has been a safety consultant for several companies as well as a safety expert witness.

He came to know Jesus at the age of 21, and ever since he has always loved worshipping God. He and his wife were two of the eight founding members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church. They currently attend Christ United Methodist Church.

He loved his God, his family, his students, and doing genealogy. He enjoyed Texas Aggie sports especially baseball and basketball, and family trips including trips to a cabin that he built in New Mexico.

Visitation will be held at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station from 7pm-9pm on Wednesday, February 8, 2017. His celebration of life will be at Christ United Methodist Church in College Station at 11am on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Please feel free to wear your Aggie maroon in honor of Larry. Burial will follow at College Station Cemetery.
