Joseph C. Pfeiffer Jr.
PFEIFFER JOSEPH C., JR. 77, died at his home in Ft. Walton Beach, FL, on January 4, 2006, after a long battle with cancer . Born in Irvine, KY, Joe grew up in Louisville, where he attended Holy Cross Elementary and Flaget High School. He also completed an engineering degree at Texas A&M University. He joined the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1946, and served for 36 years, retiring with the rank of Lt. Colonel. In his long career, he participated in many engineering projects that produced the modern generation of "smart weapons." He was preceded in death by Nelly, his wife of 50 years. He leaves behind his sister, Marjorie Phelps of Louisville; and four children, Erik Pfeiffer of Kaliuana-Kona, HI, Alan Pfeiffer-Traum of Houston, TX, Tracy Brown of Marietta, GA, and Tina Boyer of Tampa, FL. He is also survived by four grandchildren, Nathan Pfeiffer-Traum, Annie and Aidan Brown and Jack Boyer. Expressions of sympathy may be made to Covenant Hospice, 101 Hart Street, Niceville, FL 32578.
